Rolling Stones Announce Deluxe Reissue Of Some Girls
September 14, 2011
The Rolling Stones have announced the release of the remastered, expanded, Super Deluxe, Deluxe and digital editions of 1978’s Some Girls via Universal Music Group. The best-selling Stones album will be in stores November 21, 2011. Though details are not final, the new package will feature some undiscovered tracks from the Rolling Stones vault, dug up by producer Don Was. This release follows in the successful footsteps of 2010’s expanded, remaster of Exile On Main Street, which brought the Stones to the top of the British charts.

The Rolling Stones have been working with UMG since April 2008, focusing on the remasters of their post-1971 material including studio albums, live albums, and classic compilations, as well as the box set Singles 1971-2006 earlier this year. The Super Deluxe edition will feature an unseen Helmut Newton photo session from 1978, an essay by author and journalist Anthony DeCurtis putting the album in its original context, and a 7" single of "Beast Of Burden"/"When the Whip Comes Down" in its banned sleeve.

Some Girls features such classics as "Miss You," which was the Stones' eighth #1 single in the States, "Beast Of Burden," "Shattered" and their cover of The Temptations' "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)."
