The Rolling Stones are headlining a concert at the 2014 Roskilde Festival in Roskilde, Denmark, on July 3. The announcement was made on March 24, 2014. NME reported that Roskilde Festival head of programming Anders Wahrén made this statement: "For years, we have dreamed of the moment when we got the opportunity to reunite the Rolling Stones with the Orange Stage at Roskilde Festival." Single-day tickets for the festival are currently on sale, but will likely sell out quickly for July 3 now that it has been announced that the Rolling Stones are performing on that date.
According to a Roskilde Festival announcement: "Our iconic Orange Stage was originally designed for the Rolling Stones tour back in the '70s. Having the band on this stage will be pure, unforgettable rock history."
The 2014 Roskilde Festival takes place from June 29 to July 6. Other artists who have been announced to perform at the festival include Arctic Monkeys, Rob Zombie, Damon Albarn, OutKast, Kasabian, Moderat, Warpaint, Merchandise, Haim, Deerhunter, Nails, Earl Sweatshirt, Major Lazer, Pusha T, MØ and Trentemøller.
The Roskilde Festival is one of several concerts that the Rolling Stones are doing as part of their "14 on Fire" tour in 2014.
