L'Wren Scott Death: Autopsy Confirms Designer Committed Suicide

Mick Jagger's girlfriend was found dead in her New York City apartment on Monday.

Designer L'Wren Scott committed suicide by hanging, an autopsy conducted by the New York City medical examiner's office determined.
Scott, who had been dating Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger since 2001, was found dead in her Manhattan apartment by her assistant on Monday morning. It had been believed that she committed suicide, but Wednesday's results confirm the cause and manner of death.

The designer, who appeared on The Hollywood Reporter's 2013 25 Most Powerful Stylists list, had styled A-listers including Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker and the late Elizabeth Taylor. She also coordinated Jagger’s wardrobe for The Rolling Stones’ 50 and Counting tour in 2012.
Scott was adopted by Mormon parents and raised in Roy, Utah, as Luann Bambrough. She decided to change her name when she launched her modeling career at age 17, after being discovered by famed fashion photographer Bruce Weber.
Jagger was shocked and devastated by the news of Scott's death, his spokesperson said Monday.

On Tuesday, he released a statement about Scott's death, saying he's "still struggling to understand." The Rolling Stones later postponed their upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand, after initially delaying the opening show, scheduled for March 19.
Scott canceled her upcoming London show due to production delays last month and had planned to unveil her fall 2014 collection via social media in early March, but that apparently was delayed.
Her company was nearly $6 million in debt as of the end of 2012, according to the Associated Press. In fact, she was reportedly set to announce the closing of her eponymous clothing line on Wednesday, March 19, but she took her own life before she had the chance.
