Adam Levine can't really move like Jagger

Adam Levine doesn't want fans to think he can actually dance like Sir Mick Jagger.

The Maroon 5 frontman sings about the Rolling Stones legend - famed for his womanising ways and unique on-stage moves - in new single 'Moves Like Jagger', but is concerned about people taking it too literally.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: "It was a bit of a bold statement to make in a song and I was worried about the cockiness of it all. It's not meant to be about me moving like Jagger, honest. It's about everyone moving like Jagger.

"It's about encouraging people to lose their self-consciousness on the dance floor and just move, like Mick used to."

However, Adam - who is one of the judges on US TV talent show 'The Voice' - says he soon got over his worries and hoped fans could see the funny side.

He said: "Then, the more I thought about it, the more I was turned on by the cheekiness and audacity of the song, so we went with it."

Adam's fellow 'The Voice' judge Christina Aguilera also appears on the song and he was pleased to be able to give the track a "female perspective".

He added: "Christina gives the track a female perspective. It's kind of cool hearing a girl singing about moving like Jagger. It took the track to a new place."
