Ronnie Wood's wedding plans: Rod Stewart may be one of three best men

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and theater producer Sally Humphreys have not yet publicly spoken about their engagement, British tabloid the Sunday People is reporting these details about the engagement and nuptials:
  • Wood proposed marriage in London on October 18, 2012, after the world premiere of the Rolling Stones documentary "Crossfire Hurricane." He attended the premiere with Humphreys.
  • Rod Stewart might be one of three best men at the wedding. According to the Sunday People, Wood is considering one of his other sons (Jesse or Tyrone) to be another best man.
  • The wedding will happen in January 2013, close to New Year's Day.
  • The couple is considering getting married in a registrar's office in London.
  • Wood wants hundreds of people at the wedding, but Humphreys would prefer a much smaller guest list.
  • Humphreys wants to wear a vintage wedding gown, possibly from the 1950s.
  • She will follow tradition and have her father give her away at the ceremony.
Rolling Stones guitarist Wood, 65, has known 34-year-old Sally Humphreys for several years, but they didn't start dating until late 2011, a year before the engagement. Wood and Humphreys met when she worked with him on a solo project.
Humphreys' 63-year-old mother confirmed to the Daily Mail that Wood and Humphreys are engaged, and that Wood asked Humphreys; parents for their approval/blessing before he proposed marriage to Humphreys. According to the Daily Mail, Humphreys' mother said she's "absolutely delighted" about the engagement.
Wood's marriage to Humphreys will be his third and her first marriage. Wood was married to model Chrissie Wood from 1971 to 1978. (Chrissie, who was the mother of Jesse, died in 1995 of a suspected Valium overdose.) Ronnie and his second wife, Jo Wood (a former model), were a couple for about eight years before they got married in 1985. They have two kids together: Leah (born in 1978) and Tyrone (born in 1983). Jo's eldest child, a son named Jamie (born in 1974), is from a previous relationship.
An unnamed source told the Sunday People: "Ronnie wants a New Year's Day wedding. They are looking at the early days of January for what is available. He wants to start 2013 with a big party. Sally would be happy with a few close friends and family.
"Ronnie would love to invite everyone so they are going to have to meet somewhere in the middle. He loves a party. People are joking he'll have 3,000 guests and she'll have six. Sally won't want a lot of fuss. She is hoping to wear a vintage 1950s dress with sentimental value.
"Her dad will be giving her away and if they have bridesmaids they will be young family members. The couple are considering central London register offices. The wedding will be attended by rock and roll royalty including Kate Moss and Mick Jagger but it won't be over the top."
Here are the celebrities who could likely be at the wedding:
  • The other Rolling Stones (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts)
  • Paul McCartney
  • Rod Stewart
  • Members of the revamped Faces lineup (Mick Hucknall, Kenney Jones, Ian McLagan)
  • Bill Wyman
  • Damien Hirst
  • Kate Moss
