Controversial auction of Ronnie Wood's possessions was his stepson Jamie's idea

Jamie Wood, the stepson of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, has come forward to claim that it was his idea to auction off Ronnie's possessions because Ronnie abandoned the items in 2008, when Ronnie left Jamie's mother Jo, who was Ronnie's second wife.
In October 2012, Ronnie publicly blasted Jo for auctioning off several of his personal belongings, including stage outfits, musical instruments, Rolling Stones memorabilia and art from his personal collection. The auction took place on October 27, 2012, and was handled by Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, California. Ronnie issued a statement through his publicist saying that the auction was "outrageous" and that he did not endorse the auction and he wanted no part of it. The auction was advertised as possessions from the estate of Ronnie and Jo Wood.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Jamie had this to say about the auction: Blame me. We needed to get rid of all of Dad’s sh*t which we’ve had in a warehouse for three years. My mum would have given it all to Oxfam. But I’ve got three kids and a mortgage to pay and I thought: 'They’re Dad’s trousers, people will pay good money for them.'"
Jamie also commented on Ronnie's recent engagement to to theater producer Sally Humphreys, whom he has been dating since late 2011. Wood is 65, and Humphreys is 34. The couple has not yet made an official, public announcement about the engagement
However, according to the Daily Mail, Humphreys' 63-year-old mother Allison confirmed the engagement by telling the media: ‘We’re absolutely delighted with the engagement. He’s visited us about three times and we like him a lot. They just have such a huge amount in common, especially the arts. They’re very supportive of each other."
And although Jamie (who is 38) approves of Humphreys, he expressed concern to the Daily Mail about how the marriage will affect to the inheritance and financial support that Ronnie has been giving to his adult children: "You can’t just leave them in the lurch now because they are not prepared. The rock star needs to pay up. A normal parent will push their children to achieve great things. You give them the tools to go out and get a job and earn a living.
"But in rock star families that doesn’t happen — not just in my family, but in any rock ’n’ roll family. We were sent to school and that was about it. No one ever pushed any of us to succeed in life. If you are not going to do that for your kids when they are younger, well, then you should get the chequebook out.’
Ronnie has been married and divorced twice. He and his first wife, Chrissie, were married from 1971 to 1978. Chrissie died of a suspected Valium overdose in 2005. Ronnie and his second wife, Jo (a former model whose maiden name is Howard) got together with Ronnie in 1977, when he was still married to Chrissie. Ronnie and Jo got married in 1985. They have two children together: Leah (born in 1978) and Tyrone (born in 1983). Ronnie's eldest child, Jesse, is from his first marriage. Jamie is Jo's eldest child from a previous relationship.
In 2008, Ronnie left Jo for Ekaterina Ivanova, who was an 18-year-old waitress at the time. That relationship ended about a year later, shortly after Ivanova accused Ronnie of domestic abuse. (He was let off with a strong warning by law enforcement.)
In 2009, Jo filed for divorce. The divorce was finalized in 2011.
From January 2010 to September 2011, he dated polo instructor/student Ana Araujo. After breaking up with Araujo, he had a brief fling with jewelry salesperson Nicola Sargent before he went public with his romance with Humphreys in late 2011.
As far as anyone knows, Humphreys has never been married before and she does not have children. She comes from a middle-class family (he parents are music teachers) in Birmingham, England. Unlike Ronnie, who is a recovering drug addict and alcoholic, Humphreys has led a healthy lifestyle (one of her hobbies is running marathons), according to anonymous sources who've known her for a long time who talked to the tabloids about her. Humphreys studied drama student in her university days, and she has been descried by friends as intelligent, very easy to like, and having a passion for theater. She met Ronnie several years ago when she collaborated with him on a few of his solo projects and his 2007 memoir, "Ronnie."
In a June 2012, interview with the Daily Mail, Ronnie's stepson Jamie told the Daily Mail that he approves of Humphreys: “She’s a lovely girl and she’s no groupie — I can assure you of that. It’s good for him because he needs someone a bit more like my mum — someone more solid — and that’s what Sally is. She’s a nice girl and we’ve known her for years.
"She’s been a friend of dad’s for a long time, but she always had a boyfriend, which I think held him back. But now the boyfriend’s gone, they’re free to be with each other. She’s not his type, that’s the unusual thing. Sally’s definitely not one of the bimbos he usually goes for. That’s great because she’s exactly what he needs. He’s getting a bit old now — I don’t think he can keep up with bimbos any more."
Jamie and Ronnie's kids with Jo had been estranged from Ronnie after he left Jo for Ivanova, but the children have since reconciled with Ronnie now that Ivanva is out of his life.
However, Jamie admitted to the Daily Mail in November 2012 that his relationship with Ronnie was never the same after he left Jo for another woman. There is still some tension between him and Ronnie, whom he says he is not in contact with on a regular basis: "It’s painful, but what can you do? I thought me and Dad were really close, but I’ve moved on. Dad left and there was never a conversation between me and him. I can’t demand he sits down and talks to me. Dad has always been in his own world and that’s the way he likes it. He does what he wants in the selfish way that rock stars can."
Jamie, who works as an art dealer, said that he thinks that Ronnie still has some lingering resentment toward Jamie because Jamie quit working as a manager for Ronnie's art gallery Scream when the gallery was experiencing serious financial difficulties a few years ago. Tryone still works for Scream. Leah has had minor success as a model and nightclub DJ, but she appears to have become a full-time wife and mother. Jesse is a musician and former model who is now best known as the boyfriend of TV/radio host Fearne Cotton, who is pregnant with his child.
The Daily Mail reports that Leah is does not approve of Ronnie marrying Humphreys, although the Daily Mail did not say in the article if an attempt was made to contact Leah to confirm that claim or get her side of the story.
According to the Daily Mail, Jamie plans to attend Ronnie's wedding (which could take place before the end of 2012), but Jamie won't be attending any of the Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary concerts this year. As previously reported, the Rolling Stones are doing concerts at the O2 Arena in London on November 25 and November 29, 2012. and at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on December 13 and December 15, 2012. Tickets for all the concerts sold out within minutes.
