Charie Watts in New York City: Jimmy Fallon, Iridium, Lincoln Center and more

Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts has been making a big splash in New York City with his band the A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie. The band, which was formed in 2009, has mostly performed in Europe, but made its U.S. debut on June 27, 2012, by doing a two-set show as part of Lincoln Center's "Midsummer Night Swing" series.
In addition, A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie made its U.S. TV debut performing on NBC's New York City-based variety series "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" on June 29, 2012, the same date that the band kicked off a four-night stint at New York City's Iridium Jazz Club. The A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie is doing eight sets (two sets per night) from June 29 to July 2, 2012, at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City. Watts will also perform with the Les Paul Trio at the Iridium Jazz Club on July 2, 2012.
The other members of the A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie are pianist Axel Zwingenberger and pianist/vocalist Ben Waters and bass player Dave Green. The band's name comes from the first letters of the band members' first names.
As previously reported, the group's debut album, "Live in Paris," was released in the U.S. and Canada on June 26, 2012, and in other countries on June 25, 2012.
According to recent interviews given by Rolling Stones guitarists Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, the Rolling Stones are planning to reunite before the end of 2012 to do something special to celebrate the Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary. The band is meeting in London in July 2012 to discuss those plans, according to Richards. Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger has said in several interviews that the band will not tour in 2012.
In recent interviews,Watts has not revealed any new information about the the Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary plans. The only thing he has confirmed is that the Rolling Stones turned down an invitation to perform at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
In late April/early May 2012, Rolling Stones got together in New York City and in Weehawken, New Jersey, for rehearsals that were filmed for an authorized Rolling Stones 50th anniversary documentary movie (directed by Brett Morgen) that will be released in cinemas in September 2012 and on DVD/Blu-ray in October or November 2012. The movie's title and release dates are to be announced.
