Ronnie Wood's former landlord spills details about his living habits
Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood used to live in the castle-like Ruxley Tower building (which is in Esher, Surrey, England) from 2009 to 2011. His former landlord Jennifer Lacoste has now given a tabloid interview saying that although Wood was a "fantastic tenant," she says he left behind a mess that is costing her thousands to clean up and renovate.
Lacoste (an heir to the Lacoste fashion fortune) is now selling the residence, and Wood was the most recent tenant. She told the Daily Mail that she has to spend about £75,000 to replace the carpeting, which she claims was stained with coffee, cigarette burns and paint.
She said in the Daily Mail interview: "'He left it in such a state I could barely get through the front door." Lacoste also said she had to repaint the walls that "went from being bright white to yellow from Ronnie's constant smoking."
Lacost reportedly bought the four-bedroom tower in 1996 for £1.2 million
She told the Daily Mail: "Just because he's Ronnie, I charged him £4,000 a month, rather than £8,000. If I'd known he would be moving in, I would never have installed that pale carpet in the first place. What was I thinking? But he was a fantastic tenant, really, it worked both ways. He always paid his rent on time. And I'll always remember his collection of Ugg boots in different colors."
