Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts and former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor are set to do a series of separate concerts at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City.
Watts will perform eight sets with the A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie from June 29 and July 2, 2012. He will also perform with the Les Paul Trio on July 2.
Meanwhile, Taylor is scheduled to perform at Iridium from May 9 to May 14, 2012.
Although they are doing these shows separately, Watts and Taylor have performed together on multiple occasions in 2011. In March 9, 2011, they were part of an all-star tribute to the late Ian Stewart at a concert held at the Ambassadors Theatre in London. (Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and former Rolling Stones bass player Bill Wyman were also part of the tribute show.)
In addition, Taylor and Wyman joined the current members of the Rolling Stones (whose other members are lead singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards) for private jam sessions in London in December 2011. The sessions were reportedly filmed and will be featured in a Rolling Stones official 50th anniversary documentary film (title to be announced) that is due out on Eagle Rock Entertainment in September 2012.
