Keith Richards produces Aaron Neville album; Taschen does Rolling Stones book
Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has produced a doo-wop album for Aaron Neville that will be released by Blue Note Records, according to Forbes.com. The album's title and release date are to be announced.
Blue Note's head of A&R is Don Was, who has been working with the Rolling Stones as a producer since the Rolling Stones' 1994 album "Voodoo Lounge."
Forbes.com quotes an unnamed source as saying “Keith had a great time" making the album with Neville. Aaron Neville is the father of Ivan Neville, who is a member of the X-Pensive Winos, the band that Richards works with for Richards' solo music.
Richards has been a longtime music producer. He and Mick Jagger have produced several Rolling Stones songs under the name the Glimmer Twins. Richards has also produced his own solo music, as well as music from Aretha Franklin, Ronnie Spector, Johnnie Johnson and reggae band Wingless Angels.
Meanwhile, Forbes.com is reporting that book publisher Taschen (which is known for its oversized photo books) is coming out with a photo book in 2013 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones. The book's title and release date are to be announced.
The Rolling Stones have their own authorized 50th anniversary photo book called "Rolling Stones: 50," which is due out worldwide in July 2012.
These books are among several that have been or will be published to commemorate the Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary. Most of the 50th anniversary books are photo books.
