Ronnie Wood, U2's The Edge, Gavin Friday contribute to WholeWorldBand app

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is among the musicians who are contributing to WholeWorldBand, an app for iPhone 4, iPhone 4s and iPad 2 that will give users the ability to contribute and/or combine music to share with other users.

According to Music Week, the WholeWorldBand app is being developed by Kevin Godley (of 10CC fame) and Andy Wood, who is known for the bands Hypergallery and Cubic Motion.

Other musicians who are contributing their music to the app include U2 guitarist The Edge, Gavin Friday, Gemma Hayes, Cathy Davey, Mik Pyro (Republic of Loose) and Liam Ó Maonlaí (Hothouse Flowers).

The WholeWorldBand app premieres at the Music Show in Dublin (which takes places on February 25 and 26, 2011), and it goes on sale to the public via iTunes sometime in March 2012.
