As gene pools go, Georgia May Jagger hails from one of the most prestigious. With dad, Mick Jagger, front man of world-famous band the Rolling Stones, and mum, Jerry Hall, the leggy Texan supermodel and sometime actress batting for her team, this girl was never going to lead a pedestrian life. Nor would she be short on striking looks or star quality.

As the successful young model - who got her start after being photographed by David Bailey at the age of 14 - graces the cover of, and a 10-page fashion story inside Harper's Bazaar, mum Jerry sat down for a chat about bringing up Georgia May and keeping her grounded in the spotlight.

"Growing up a Jagger wasn't always easy for her, "she explains, "She didn't like it if I turned up at school all made-up. She preferred me to be wearing no make-up and tracksuit bottoms, like the other mums. She didn't like Dad picking her up in a fancy car, either."

Though model looks run in the family (sister Lizzie famously starred as the face of M&S), it's the petite, gap-toothed Georgia May who is making the most waves after being introduced to the business by her mother.

"When Georgia was 14, I asked David Bailey to take her picture. It was her first studio shoot. She was still in school, so she didn't think much of it (and I think she found David quite intimidating). But then she got asked to do another shoot, for a magazine, and afterwards she said, 'Oh my God, that was so much fun. I loved it. It was like acting'."

So what is the secret of keeping a child star on the straight and narrow? Simple:

"Georgia saw Keith and Ronnie in action and I think that put her off a bit. I think she thought, 'Oh God, I don't want to be like that'."

Beauty and brains, a killer combination.
