Mick Jagger, Lisa Fischer, Merry Clayton in docu film 'Twenty Feet From Stardom'
Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger
is featured in the movie "Twenty Feet From Stardom," a documentary
about female backup singers that will also feature Lisa Fischer and
Merry Clayton, who have done backup vocals for the Rolling Stones.
The 90-minute movie, which is directed by Morgan Neville and which
premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, is scheduled for a North
American release by the Weinstein Company's Radius-TWC on June 14, 2013. The movie will also be available on demand in May 2013 on a date to be announced.
Fischer has been a backup singer for the Rolling Stones since 1989. Fischer, Bernard Fowler and Blondie Chaplin are the Rolling Stones' three main backup singers who tour and record with the Stones.
Clayton is best known for singing backup vocals on the 1969 Rolling Stones classic "Gimme Shelter." When the Rolling Stones perform "Gimme Shelter" in concert, Fischer sings the solo parts that were originally sung by Clayton.
