Rolling Stones 50th anniversary radio special in US on Memorial Day weekend 2012

Cumulus Media and Courtside Entertainment have teamed up for concert and music specials on U.S. radio. (Courtside Entertainment's president is Westwood One founder Norman Pattiz) According to Radio Info, one of the specials being planned is a Rolling Stones 50th anniversary program that will premiere on Memorial Day weekend in 2012.

This does not appear to be an official 50th anniversary special that was endorsed by the Rolling Stones, but that does not mean that it won't be quality program.

Here are the officially endorsed Rolling Stones 50th anniversary projects that have been announced so far:

  • Photo book titled "Rolling Stones: 50" that is set for a July 2012 release
  • Documentary film (titled to be announced) due out in September 2012 on Eagle Rock Entertainment
  • TV documentary (Networks and premiere dates to be announced)
  • "Greatest hits" box set (Release date to be announced)
