Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones Top 2013 Concert Earners List
According to Pollstar (via ABC News Radio), rock veterans Bon Jovi are way ahead of the pack, grossing $142.1 million over the course of 60 concerts to date. Even without Richie Sambora, they’ve been able to bring in more than 25,000 fans a night at an average ticket price of $95.60.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have played 31 shows (so far) as the 2013 legs of their Wrecking Ball Tour brought them to Australia and Europe. But with an average attendance of 46,167 – the highest on Pollstar’s list – they’ve pulled in $103.9 million.
The Rolling Stones may have only played 18 dates, but the average ticket price of $346.09 allowed them to rake in $87.7 million for the “50 and Counting” tour. The gross of nearly $8 million per show was way above their competitors, with Barbra Streisand and Robbie Williams each bringing in slightly more than $5 million per night, but both acts played fewer than 10 dates.
Other classic rock acts in the Top 20 were Fleetwood Mac (No. 9, $58.1 million) and Paul McCartney (No. 16, $43.5 million). The rest of the Top 20 were filled up with country, Top 40 and Cirque de Soleil tours.
