Rolling Stones food/wine event to take place in New York City on May 23, 2012
The Morrison Hotel Gallery
in New York City is hosting a food/wine event on May 23, 2012,
beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern Time, to celebrate the gallery's exhibit
"The Rolling Stones: 50 Years in Photography."
As previously reported, the exhibit at the gallery is open to the public from May 4, to May 31, 2012.
I've been to the Morrison Hotel Gallery to check out the exhibit, which is in an upstairs loft, and it is an intimate space that can comfortably seat about 40 people. About 50 people can squeeze into the loft if they are all standing. The sneak preview press reception that I attended on May 3, 2012, was also attended by photographers whose work is included in the exhibit, including Ken Regan, Bob Gruen and Henry Diltz.
This food/wine event on May 23 is not officially endorsed by the Rolling Stones. The Rolling Stones will not be in attendance at this event.
Regan will be a special guest at this event. Guests will get a four-course dinner by Nobu chef Sean Mell and sous chef Weezie Mell with a special wine pairing by sommelier Lauren Johnson of Wine by Design NYC.
All guests will receive a special framed 4" x 6" print of Regan's "Keith Making Breakfast" portrait from 1975 (pictured with this article), as well as one-night-only discounts on books and prints.
As previously reported, Regan's 2011 photo book "All Access: The Rock'n'Roll Photography of Ken Regan" has several portraits of the Rolling Stones. The book also features a preface by Keith Richards and an introduction by Mick Jagger.
