Mick Jagger in L.A. after L'Wren Scott's death...

Mick Jagger in L.A. after L'Wren Scott's death.

Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger is in Los Angeles with members of his family as he prepares for the funeral of his longtime girlfriend L'Wren Scott. A spokesperson for Jagger told Us Weekly in a report published on March 20, 2014: "Mick has arrived in L.A. where he is with his daughter Karis and her family who live there."
Karis (who is 44) is Jagger's eldest child. Her mother is Jagger's ex-girlfriend Marsha Hunt. According to Us Weekly, Jagger's other adult children — Jade (who is 42); Elizabeth (also known as Lizzy), who is 30; Jim (who is 28); and Georgia May (who is 22) — have also made plans to be with their father in L.A. (Jagger's two youngest children are 16-year-old Gabriel and 14-year-old Lucas, who may or may not be in Los Angeles, presumably because they are in school.)
As previously reported, Scott (who was 49) committed suicide at her New York City apartment on March 17, 2014. She was found hanged from a doorknob. Scott was a fashion designer and former model who was Jagger's girlfriend since 2001.
It has not yet been announced where Scott's funeral will take place. She lived with Jagger in New York, London and Paris. If the funeral does not take place in New York, then there will likely be at least a memorial service for her in New York, where Scott lived for several years before she met Jagger. There have been reports that Scott's family want her to be buried in Utah, her home state.

Rolling Stones comment on L'Wren Scott's death; Charlie Watts performs in Perth

Rolling Stones comment on L'Wren Scott's death; Charlie Watts performs in Perth

By carla hay/By Candace Sutton

On March 19, 2014, Rolling Stones guitarists Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood and Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts issued statements about the tragic death of L'Wren Scott, the fashion designer who was Mick Jagger's girlfriend since 2001. Meanwhile, Watts performed a late-night, low-key jazz concert for about 130 people at the Ellwood Jazz Club in Perth, Australia, on March 19, 2014, the same night that the Rolling Stones were supposed to do a concert at Perth Arena. The Rolling Stones' 2014 concerts in Australia and New Zealand have been postponed in the wake of Scott's death.**********
On Wednesday night, the same night the Rolling Stones were due to perform in front of more than 15,000 screaming fans for the first show of their sold-out tour, drummer Charlie Watts played to just 130 people at the city's tiny Ellwood Jazz Club.
The club was closed to the public when Watts performed, but jazz fans already inside were treated to the surprise 45-minute performance from the Rolling Stones drummer.
Club director Graham Wood told MailOnline that the 72-year-old drummer was ‘private and quiet’ during his two hours at the club. But he said Watts came alive when he walked onto the stage, even treating fans to a jazz-style version of Rolling Stones' mega-hit Honky Tonk Woman.
He got here around 11pm and stayed a good couple of hours. He was fairly private. He had his entourage and security there. He was pretty keen to just quietly enjoy the music.
‘We had a full house of about 130, and they didn’t really know what was happening.
‘He played a kind-of slow, swing version of Honky Tonk Woman. The place just erupted. People couldn’t believe it.’
Watts had been expected to play at the club earlier in the week as part of saxophonist Tim Ries' Rolling Stones Project when the news of L'Wren Scott’s death altered his plans.
Kaitlyn Elsegood, who was at the club, told MailOnline that Watts arrived and took up a spot in a quiet corner, going largely unnoticed by most people. But she said the Stones drummer’s demeanor changed as soon as he hit the stage. He was sitting in the bar the whole time, but he was sitting quietly in the corner having a drink.
‘Not many people noticed he was there. But he was very relaxed on stage. He played for about 45 minutes.
‘He didn’t really say anything. He was just happy to play....’

Rolling Stones to return to Australia in October...

Rolling Stones to return to Australia in October

The Rolling Stones will tour Australia and New Zealand in October.
The band were forced to postpone their seven-date tour Down Under, which was scheduled to kick off last night (19.03.14), after the frontman Sir Mick Jagger's long-term girlfriend L'Wren Scott, 47, committed suicide at her New York apartment earlier this week.
However, the promoters, Frontier Touring, reassured fans that the 'Brown Sugar' hitmakers would return in October to perform their '14 ON FIRE' tour, but the exact dates are yet to be confirmed.
The company told fans: ''If the new dates are not suitable, rest assured you will be able to secure a refund.
''While we encourage fans to hold on to their tickets, the option to secure a refund is now available to you via the official ticketing agency you purchased from.''
The group were ''shocked'' by the death of the fashion designer and are focusing on helping Sir Mick - who has been in a relationship with the former model for 13 years - get through this ''awful time''.
Drummer Charlie Watts said yesterday: ''Needless to say we are all completely shocked but our first thought is to support Mick at this awful time.
''We intend to come back to Australia and New Zealand as soon as it proves possible.''
Guitarist Ronnie Wood added: ''This is such terrible news and right now the important thing is that we are all pulling together to offer Mick our support.''

L'Wren Scott Death: Autopsy Confirms Designer Committed Suicide

Mick Jagger's girlfriend was found dead in her New York City apartment on Monday.

Designer L'Wren Scott committed suicide by hanging, an autopsy conducted by the New York City medical examiner's office determined.
Scott, who had been dating Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger since 2001, was found dead in her Manhattan apartment by her assistant on Monday morning. It had been believed that she committed suicide, but Wednesday's results confirm the cause and manner of death.

The designer, who appeared on The Hollywood Reporter's 2013 25 Most Powerful Stylists list, had styled A-listers including Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker and the late Elizabeth Taylor. She also coordinated Jagger’s wardrobe for The Rolling Stones’ 50 and Counting tour in 2012.
Scott was adopted by Mormon parents and raised in Roy, Utah, as Luann Bambrough. She decided to change her name when she launched her modeling career at age 17, after being discovered by famed fashion photographer Bruce Weber.
Jagger was shocked and devastated by the news of Scott's death, his spokesperson said Monday.

On Tuesday, he released a statement about Scott's death, saying he's "still struggling to understand." The Rolling Stones later postponed their upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand, after initially delaying the opening show, scheduled for March 19.
Scott canceled her upcoming London show due to production delays last month and had planned to unveil her fall 2014 collection via social media in early March, but that apparently was delayed.
Her company was nearly $6 million in debt as of the end of 2012, according to the Associated Press. In fact, she was reportedly set to announce the closing of her eponymous clothing line on Wednesday, March 19, but she took her own life before she had the chance.
