Rolling Stones land in Israel

Rock band arrives for their first ever visit to Israel aboard a private tour jet and 100 staff members
Legendary rock band The Rolling Stones landed in Israel Monday night aboard their private tour jet ahead of their concert which is set to take place at Tel Aviv's Park Hayarkon on Wednesday. It is the first time the band visits Israel.
Israeli media reported that the band came with over 100 staff members and that nearly 1,000 tourists also flew in to the country to attend the landmark concert.
In honor of the show, which is expected to attract nearly 50,000 fans, one of Israel's largest and most sophisticated stages was built.
The show, which is part of the band's "14 on Fire" world tour, will begin at 9:15 pm instead of at 8:30 pm as originally planned in order to accommodate Jews celebrating the holiday of Shavuot. The municipality of Tel Aviv has given the group the green light to continue the concert into the night.

With a career now spanning over half a century, the aging rockers' appeal remains undiminished across the world, and a visit to Israel would be a momentous event for many of the country's rock music fans, who have seen a decline in appearances by overseas acts as the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement gains traction.
It would also be the first time for many Israelis to see the Stones, who have never performed in Israel.
Live performances by such veteran acts are highly sought after, attracting fans who can afford to pay big bucks to see their idols onstage.
The Rolling Stones formed in London in 1962, and became one of the most successful groups in rock history, with hits such as "You Can't Always Get What You Want," "Satisfaction," "Gimme Shelter," "Paint It Black" and "Jumping Jack Flash."
They have sold over 250 million albums, and released twenty-nine studio albums, eighteen live albums and numerous compilations.
