Ronnie Wood's Ex-Girlfriend Is New Neighbour

Ronnie Wood has been left baffled after his ex-girlfriend moved into a house two doors down from his London home.

The Rolling Stones star split from his Brazilian partner Ana Araujo late last year (11) and he has now revealed she has moved onto the same street as him.

However, the rocker insists they remain "friendly" despite the split and he is happy to have her as a neighbour.

He tells Britain's Sunday Telegraph, "She's moved in two doors down from me. She's become the neighbour from hell. I'm joking, of course. We're friendly and everything, but she wants me to go round and visit the dogs and stuff. She is a bit nutty, but I quite like that about her. I seem to go for that sort of thing...

"They (her friends) said that she shouldn't (move so close), but she just said 'I like it here,' which, I suppose, is fair enough."

The news comes amid reports the 64-year-old star has split from his latest girlfriend, Nicola Sargent, 25, and is now dating theatre producer Sally Humphreys, 34.

Dave Stewart opens up about Mick Jagger and the future of SuperHeavy

SuperHeavy, whose members include Mick Jagger and Dave Stewart, still has a documentary in the works, and Jagger wants "Energy" to be SuperHeavy's second music video. These are some of the things that Stewart told me when I did an exclusive interview with him on February 15, 2012, while he was in Los Angeles for his tour with Joss Stone, one of the other members of SuperHeavy. The other members of the group are Damian Marley and A.R. Rahman. As of now, all of SuperHeavy's members are pursuing multiple projects. For Stewart, he has been touring (with Stone in 2012 and Stevie Nicks in 2011), promoting his solo music, and preparing for the Broadway opening of "Ghost The Musical," whose songs he co-wrote with Glen Ballard.

SuperHeavy has no plans to tour and has yet to do any official live public performances for the group's self-titled album, which was released in September 2011. (SuperHeavy's music video for "Miracle Worker," which Stewart directed, has footage of the band performing, but that was on a music-video set with an audience that consisted mostly of hired extras.) One place where SuperHeavy won't be performing is at the 2012 Olympics, since Stewart revealed during our conversation that SuperHeavy turned down an invitation to do an Olympics performance. My full interview with Stewart will be in my Celebrity Q&A column around the time that "Ghost The Musical" officially opens on Broadway in April 2012. In the meantime, here is what Stewart said when we talked about SuperHeavy.

You’ve been directing and producing a SuperHeavy documentary, which has had some footage officially released on the Internet. What is the latest status on the full-length documentary?

My little company has been making documentaries — it’s a company called Weapons of Mass Entertainment — we made a feature-film-length documentary on Stevie Nicks and Joss Stone. I just signed a six-picture deal with CineDine — a six-documentary film deal.

With SuperHeavy, I just made a documentary, which was an amazing thing to capture. I’ve probably got an hour-and-15-minute-long film. I think it’s interesting, but because things keep happening, I keep filming that.

Mick wants to make a video for [SuperHeavy song] “Energy.” It’s one of his favorites. I started to feed some of [the documentary footage] on Facebook, some little teasers. We have amazing stuff.

I know you’ve been asked this question almost every time you’ve done an interview talking about SuperHeavy, but do you think SuperHeavy will ever do a live public performance?

We would all like to, but the thing is with having a band like that, Joss and I have just been playing live. A.R. [Rahman] is busy rehearsing for the Academy Awards show. Everybody’s busy doing things, but we can all regroup at one point. It’s a mixture of five managers.

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood said in a recent interview that the Rolling Stones have been invited to perform at the 2012 Olympics in London. Do you think the Stones are going to do it?

I’m not sure. They might. I think the Olympics committee has been asking a few people, hedging their bets. Why not? It would be a hell of a thing. It’s London, and it’s where the Stones are from. The funny thing is, SuperHeavy was also approached [to perform at the 2012 Olympics], because SuperHeavy is mixed culturally: Indian, Jamaican, British. It’s all very interesting.

Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese are producing a TV drama series about the music business, and Terence Winter (of “The Sopranos” and “Boardwalk Empire” fame) reportedly wrote the screenplay for the show’s pilot episode. Would you be interested in doing the soundtrack or score music for that TV series if it gets picked up by a network?

Oh yeah! I created the music for the TV series "Malibu Country” [starring Reba McEntire]. We’re making the pilot in April [2012]. So I’ve done stuff like that. Yeah, I’d work anytime with Mick and Scorsese. Obviously, it would be amazing. Mick and I have got so many great songs and experiments that nobody’s heard. Anything with Mick and Scorsese would be incredible to work on.

You mentioned earlier that SuperHeavy was asked to perform at the 2012 Olympics. It sounds like that’s not going to happen. So what would be the band’s ideal place for the first SuperHeavy live public performance?

SuperHeavy, when people realized what it was, we were asked to do everything: the Grammys, the Olympics, the opening of a balloon in Bangkok. There’s a wall of invitations.

We always talk about making it … not a secret gig, but just a small place in New York or something like that. We haven’t set anything. We went through a million different ramifications. We did the [documentary] film.

We can decide anything at any point. We’re always free to do something. Everybody wants to do something. It’s not like we have to find something to do.

Since you've been collaborating with Mick Jagger for several years, what do you think the two of you will work on next?

I have no idea. Maybe another SuperHeavy thing. I don’t know.

Ronnie Wood says the Stones and the Faces are invited to play 2012 Olympics

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood says that the Rolling Stones and the Faces have each been invited to perform at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Wood was in the Faces before he joined the Rolling Stones in the mid-1970s.

The Rolling Stones have not performed on stage together since 2007, at the the end of their tour for "A Bigger Bang."

In 2010 and 2011, Wood toured with a revamped lineup of the Faces that included Mick Hucknall on lead vocals (because original Faces singer Rod Stewart declined to participate in the Faces reunion tours); original Faces members Kenney Jones on drums and Ian McLagan on keyboards; and former Sex Pistols member Glen Matlock on bass. It is unknown if Stewart and/or Hucknall will perform with the Faces if the band ends up doing the Olympics show.

Wood told The Sun:

"We've got more meetings, everyone wants to do it. I've been asked to do the opening ceremony with the Stones and close the games with The Faces. I've got to be the first bi-athlete musician.

"I'm busy with The Faces getting inducted into the Hall of Fame in April and then art exhibitions this year.

"Then there's my Sky Arts programme, which is the radio show televised in HD. There's plenty of music on the table, but it's just a matter of choosing which one to go with."

As previously reported, the Faces are being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland on April 14, 2012. This will be Wood's second Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. His first induction was with the Rolling Stones in 1989. Wood is the only past or current member of the Rolling Stones to have two separate inductions in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Wood's award-winning radio program "The Ronnie Wood Show" is being turned into a TV show on Sky Arts 1 HD.

"The Ronnie Wood Show" on Sky Arts 1 HD premieres on February 24, 2012, and can be seen Fridays at 11 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time. This will be the first time that a member of the Rolling Stones is starring in his own TV series.

In other news about Wood, he attended the 2012 Elle Style Awards on February 13 at the Savoy Hotel in London. Check out the accompanying slide show of Wood at the event.

Ronnie Wood's Foot Injury Caused By Ex-Wife

British rocker Ronnie Wood has revealed the cause of his recent foot surgery - it stems from a car crash with his ex-wife 20 years ago.

The Rolling Stones star has recently been photographed using a cane to help him get around after undergoing minor foot surgery.

Now Wood has revealed the ailment was a cracked bone which resulted from his former partner Jo Wood crashing a car during their marriage.

The pair was on its way back from Jo's father's funeral when the accident happened, and the musician was in plaster for six weeks following the initial incident, but the injury came back to haunt him earlier this year (12).

He tells Britain's Daily Express, "Jo was driving and we had a crash. It wasn't her fault. The foot had been bothering me recently. It was a cracked bone. I had to have pieces taken from my knee and my hip. It is all repaired now."

Ronnie Wood claims The Rolling Stones have been asked to play at the opening ceremony of the London Olympics.

Despite the legendary rockers insisting last week they wouldn't be performing at the gig in July, Ronnie says they are being considered along with his other group, The Faces.

He said: "Yeah, we've been asked. We were asked to open it with the Stones and close it with The Faces. I would be the first bi-athlete musician.

"It would be fantastic. The Olympics coming to London is a once-in-a-lifetime thing and it would be too good an opportunity to miss."

However, the guitarist isn't sure if he has the time to do it, saying: "I'm busy with The Faces getting inducted into the Hall Of Fame in April and art shows."

Last week, a spokesperson for the band - also made of Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts - said: "The Rolling Stones wish to point out that they are not performing at any concerts tied to the 2012 Olympic Games."

Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle will direct the launch ceremony and Sir Paul McCartney may take part, along with Adele and Blur.

Mick Jagger And Paul Mccartney Re-Enter Charts

Sir Mick Jagger has re-entered the top ten this week, with the WILL.I.AM single T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever). Jagger guest stars on the track, along with On The Floor singer Jennifer Lopez; the track entered the UK Singles Chart at number three. The last time Jagger had a top ten hit was in 1985, when he appeared on the David Bowie cover Dancing in the Street. Jagger told the Official Charts Company, who compiles the charts every week: "We had a great time recording the track and I'm glad that UK music lovers are liking it!"

Jagger isn't the only music legend making a surprise return to the charts. Sir Paul Mccartney reached number three in the UK Album Charts with his sixteenth studio album Kisses on the Bottom. It was kept from the top spot by Maverick Sabre'S Lonely Are The Brave at number two and Lana Del Rey'S successful album Born to Die, holding on to the top spot for a second week.

The Official Charts Company has predicted that next week's charts will be dominated by Whitney Houston tracks, in light of her sudden death. The singer, who had a history of drug and alcohol problems, died unexpectedly on February 11th, 2012 and well known tracks such as I Will Always Love You and I Wanna Dance With Somebody will undoubtedly be re-entering the charts.

It is not uncommon for fans to buy songs after a singer's death: fans of Amy Winehouse and Michael Jackson downloaded their greatest hits after their deaths in July 2011 and June 2009 respectively.

Rolling Stones - Some Girls Live In Texas

Rolling Stones - Some Girls Live In Texas

It’s 1978 and the Rolling Stones have just left the soggy vagueness of their mid-70s career behind, only to come across punk and new wave.

Admittedly, they’re the Rolling Stones and not ELP, and if we’re honest, The Knack and The Jags aren’t much of a challenge, but it’s different times for rock. This concert, filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Centre, Fort Worth, on July 18, 1978, shows the Rolling Stones in what you could call their post-pomp; fast, skinny, with Ron Wood for extra leanness. Songs like “Star”, “Shattered”, and “When The Whip Comes Down” are still recognisably Stonesy but also fit the new era (as does, we must conclude, Mick Jagger’s large red plastic hat, which he wisely ditched after three numbers). This is a spikey set, in which almost every song sounds like a lost Chuck Berry number (except for “Miss You”, which sounds, perhaps presciently, like an eight minute version of Rock “The Casbah”).

This DVD has been released as a companion piece to the reissue of the Some Girls album, which receives the same deluxe treatment as Exile On Main Street in 2009. The core item is a well-filmed 80 minute show, with decent sound and enables us to see Toronto-era Keith, surprisingly perky (and with his mouth about to finally stay like that to give him the Keef Face we all know and fear today), and it’s from an era when a new Stones album means as many as six songs from that new album, which is just as well as Some Girls works fab live (it’s nice to see the Stones’ most New-Wavey song, “Shattered”, given a good whizz round the track).

Anyone wishing to see a 1978 era film of the Rolling Stones performing songs from Some Girls, and other hits – they bat “Honky Tonky Women” out of the park three songs in, which is always impressive – will not be disappointed. By the time we’ve passed the still-droll “Respectable” (a song about the possession of cake and the simultaneous consumption thereof) and the marvellous “Far Away Eyes”, we are cleared for greatest hits territory and a visit to the Land of Keef (“Happy” followed by “Sweet Little Sixteen”) while Mick is wearing a swastika Destroy T-shirt and rubbing his knob. It’s a rambunctious concert to say the least. I couldn’t see Margaret Trudeau.

For once, the accompanying Extras are surprisingly relevant (by which I mean, they’re not a glued-together montage of photos and silent home movie clips disguised as a documentary). There’s a Saturday Night Live Dan Aykroyd spoof interview with Jagger, which is funnier than most SNL sketches and, like most SNL sketches, doesn’t so much outstay its welcome as squat in its welcome’s house until the police come. The Stones then perform about a quarter of an hour of Some Girls numbers live, Jagger in a royal blue velour beret, and rip the place up. You also get a 1978 interview by Geraldo Rivera with the band as they rehearse in Woodstock. Jagger compares the band to a bunch of “really dumb football players” and Keith says, “What else am I gonna do? Retire?” as he always has. It’s short but charming. Finally, for people who must watch everything, there’s also a contemporary interview with Jagger about the album which is of interest to fans of Mick Jagger thinks about the album now.

When you’ve toured as much as the Rolling Stones, it can be really hard to differentiate one show from another. But the band’s gig on Dec. 18, 1981, in Hampton, Virginia — now available as ‘Hampton Coliseum (Live 1981),’ the second official Stones concert bootleg — was certainly memorable for Keith Richards and Mick Jagger.

The way Richards describes it, that’s the one “where the guy ran onstage” as the Stones were closing out the concert with ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.’

“Security was a bit slow, and I saw some guy heading straight for Mick,” Richards says in a recent video interview. “I saw nobody between him and Mick … I have no idea what this guy is gonna do. … All I know is that he’s trying to get his hands on Mick, and this I have to prevent, and I do have a weapon in my hands.”

Richards removed his black Fender Telecaster and took a swing at the man, hitting him on top of his left shoulder, the guitarist recalls. Once security intervened, Richards went back to using the Tele for its primary purpose.

“The damn thing stayed in tune, and this is the greatest [advertisement] for Fender that I can give you,” Richards says with a laugh.

Jagger remembers the show’s custom stage with its “enormously long” walkways, which, in retrospect probably weren’t worth the money: “I think I went up there once,” he says.

Mick Jagger has U.K. Top 3 hit with Will.i.am single "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)"

For the first time in 27 years, Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger has a Top 3 hit on the U.K. singles chart. Jagger and Jennifer Lopez are featured artists on the Will.i.am single "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)," which has debuted at No. 3 on the U.K. singles chart for the week ending February 18, 2012, according to the Official Charts Company.

The last time Jagger was in the Top 3 of the U.K. singles chart was in 1985 for his duet with David Bowie on their remake of Martha and the Vandellas' "Dancing in the Street." The Jagger/Bowie remake, which was released for the Live Aid charity, was a massive hit in the U.K., where it was No. 1 on the singles chart.

Jagger's most recent Top 10 hit with the Rolling Stones on the U.K. singles chart was for the Rolling Stones song "Start Me Up," which reached No. 7 on the chart in 1981. The last time that the Rolling Stones were in the Top 3 on the U.K. singles chart was in 1978 with "Miss You," which peaked at No. 3.

"T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)" was released in the U.S. on November 20, 2011. The song peaked at No. 36 on Billboad's Hot 100 singles chart, before dropping off of the chart after a few weeks.

"T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)" is the first single from Will.i.am's fourth solo album,"#willpower," which is due out sometime in 2012. The single has gotten mostly negative reviews from music critics.

Will.i.am is a founding member of the Black Eyed Peas. The group is currently on hiatus.

In December 2011, the Will.i.am song "Go Home" (featuring William Gartner and Mick Jagger) was released. "Go Home" sounds very similar to "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)" and features the same sample of Jagger's vocals that are in "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)."

While we wait for definitive word on whether the Rolling Stones will celebrate their 50th anniversary by going on tour this year, we can content ourselves with the band’s ongoing series of ‘official bootleg’ releases — and at least one of the band members is hitting the stage in the near future: Keith Richards, who’s performing at a benefit in honor of recently deceased guitar legend Hubert Sumlin.

Sumlin, an inspiration to and longtime friend of Richards and Mick Jagger, passed away in early December. The benefit show, taking place Feb. 24 at the Apollo Theatre in New York, will feature an all-star lineup that also includes Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Dr. John and Susan Tedeschi. Proceeds will benefit the Jazz Foundation of America.

It sounds like a terrific night of entertainment, all for a worthy cause — and it should keep Keef good and ready to hit the road, if and when the Stones can finalize plans for a tour.

One fan who’s impatient for the band to make an announcement: Ringo Starr, who recently told Spinner, “I hope they put it together and I hope they do a world tour. We all should be out there. If we can play, we should be out there playing, and that’s the deal…I hope the Rolling Stones pull it together and I hope Keith and Mick pull it together and stop squabbling and get out there and do it.”

Ronnie Wood has revealed another historical rock jewel during his show on Absolute Radio U.K. The Rolling Stones guitarist says he could have been a part of Led Zeppelin.

“Peter Grant, who used to manage myself and Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart and Mickey Waller and Nicky Hopkins back in the good old days,” Wood said, according to the Belfast Telegraph, “he was behind a band that was going to be called The New Yard Birds, which I had an offer to join.”

“And I said, ‘I can’t join that bunch of farmers.’ Anyway, they turned out to be Led Zeppelin, he managed them as well.”

Jimmy Page was part of the transition from the Yard Birds to the band that would eventually be called Led Zeppelin, so if Wood had taken Grant up on his offer, he’d have been the band’s second guitarist. The Rolling Stones were already humming along at that time, and Wood didn’t join that legendary rock band until 1975, about seven years after this offer.

Last month Wood revealed he was partying with Jimi Hendrix the night of his death. In fact the two were roommates before each became know as one of the best rock guitarists of all time.

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has admitted he turned down the chance to join Led Zeppelin before they were famous.

Ronnie Wood turned down the chance to join Led Zeppelin.

The Rolling Stones guitarist was once managed by Peter Grant who helped turn the 'Stairway to Heaven' band into one of the world's biggest music acts but Ronnie admits he was unimpressed when he first heard them and was asked to join them.

Speaking on his Absolute Radio show, Ronnie said: "Peter Grant, used to manage myself and Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart and Mickey Waller and Nicky Hopkins back in the good old days. He was behind a band that was going to be called The New Yard Birds, which I had an offer to join, and I said 'I can't join that bunch of farmers'. Anyway, they eventually changed their name and turned out to be Led Zeppelin, and he managed them as well."

Ronnie also revealed that although he and Sir Mick Jagger wrote many of The Rolling Stones' hits together, they often decided to split up the rights to the songs.

He explained: "'I Can Feel the Fire' is a song I swapped with Mick for 'It's Only Rock and Roll', because we kind of wrote these songs together. He said 'You keep 'I Can Feel the Fire' and I'll keep 'It's Only Rock and Roll', and I said 'Oh alright then, Mick'."

While Ronnie, drummer Charlie Watts and guitarist Keith Richards have all said they are keen to mark the 50th anniversary of The Rolling Stones this year, no official announcement has yet been made.
