Hope: According to the rumor mill, Bill Wyman is back in the band and the Rolling Stones...

The Rolling Stones Turn 50

Hope: According to the rumor mill, Bill Wyman is back in the band and the Rolling Stones are going to tour to celebrate their 50th anniversary. We hope they leave the horns, back-up singers and extra musicians at home. A stripped down show – featuring Mick Taylor on the 1970s material – could be absolutely sensational. We've all heard "Brown Sugar" and "Satisfaction" with fireworks and back-up singers a million times. This time we're hoping they mix in some deep cuts with the hits and skip the stadiums. We also hope they charge something resembling a reasonable ticket price.

Fear: The biggest fear is that Jagger ultimately decides not to tour, or opts for a stadium bonanza barely distinguishable from the Stones' previous 10 trips around the globe. From everything we're hearing, however, that isn't the plan.

Rockin Ronnie Wood takes to water...

AFTER years of burning the candle at both ends, it seems Ronnie Wood is embracing his healthy side.

Or could it be a case of strategic marketing? Either way, this shot (right) was a great get for Sydney water brand C Coconut Water.

In town last month visiting his daughter Leah (who moved here two years ago with her Aussie TV producer husband Jack Macdonald), the rocker apparently became a fan of the drop.

It's a very different look to the hard rocker we are used to seeing on stage with The Rolling Stones. Wood, 64, injured his foot recently, hence the crutches in this candid shot in his colourful pyjamas on the couch at his daughter's Sydney home.

Sir Mick Jagger: 'Rolling Stones Asked Security Guards To Step Aside When Filming Shows'

Sir Mick Jagger has revealed the Rolling Stones concert movies don't reflect the chaos at the front of their shows - because security staff were often asked to vacate the stage area so they wouldn't appear on camera.

In a new interview accompanying the group's newly-released Some Girls Live in Texas '78, the rocker admits it was common to ask burly bouncers to step aside when the Stones were on film.

He explains, "Maybe for the filming we got rid of the security because it never looks good... They get in the way and they see a camera... and they want to be in the shot.

"Probably, (promoter) Bill Graham, being clever, got rid of security, which is why you don't see them."

The new Dvd/Blu-Ray concert movie was filmed at a 1978 show in Fort Worth.

Jagger says, "We were supposed to be playing a gig in Toronto and Keith was actually in jail... It was also difficult because the Americans ...

Mick Jagger Feared Jailed Richards Would Miss Some Girls Tour

Rocker Mick Jagger has opened up about the "uncertainty" of the Rolling Stones' fabled Some Girls U.S. tour, revealing he had to write songs and plan shows with pal Billy Preston because his sidekick Keith Richards was in jail following a drugs bust.

In a new interview, which features on the Dvd release of Some Girls Live From Texas '78, the frontman admits he feared his guitarist wouldn't be a part of the group for the tour.

Jagger says, "We were supposed to be playing a gig in Toronto and Keith was actually in jail... It was also difficult because the Americans are very difficult about visas, so if you have a drug bust your position as a working musician becomes very tricky."

But the troubles led to Jagger penning one of the Stone's most beloved tunes - Miss You.

He adds, "I was just writing songs with Billy (Preston)."

Hey Mick, Merry Christmas to you too! And, if Ron Wood is busy with The Faces reunion, you can always call up Mick Taylor to fill in. ...

Mick Jagger Sends Fans A Holiday Card – Pic of the Week

Mick Jagger Holiday Greeting

Mick Jagger

Mick Jagger is always on the move! This Rolling Stone really doesn’t gather any moss! With a hectic 2011 nearly behind him, he took a moment to thank his fans and wish well to one and all. You can read his message right here. (Wow, he even writes like a rich guy, huh?)

The past 12 months saw Mick hooking up with Dave Stewart, Damian Marley, Joss Stone and AR Rahman in the semi-supergroup SuperHeavy, who issued their debut album this year. Add to that the deluxe reissue of The Rolling Stones ‘Some Girls’ and, the recently opened Rolling Stones vaults which saw the download only release ‘The Brussels Affair’, a killer live show from 1973, and it’s been a typically busy year.

With 2012 fast flying into view, we must make mention that the new year will mark the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones. Talk has already been rampant about a possible tour, but we will have to wait and see if Mick and Keith can find the same page to get on.

Hey Mick, Merry Christmas to you too! And, if Ron Wood is busy with The Faces reunion, you can always call up Mick Taylor to fill in. And while you’re at it, give old man Wyman a call…you know…once last time!
