This isn't the first time that Richards has been the subject of a nonfiction film directed by a well-known filmmaker. Richards was the subject of the Netflix documentary "Keith Richards: Under the Influence" (directed by Oscar winner Morgan Neville), which premiered in September 2015. Johnny Depp also directed a documentary about Richards that was filmed mostly in 2010. Depp said in interviews that the untitled movie was completed, but no plans have been announced for the documentary to have a premiere or a release.
